A couple weeks ago I was sucked down the vortex of a Pinterest/flickr/google-image-search rabbithole, and I came across this talented lady's beautiful rainbow scrappy string quilt, whereupon the vortex released me and spat me out with velocity into the sewing room. It was rotary-cutter and paper-piecing madness every spare moment because I HAD TO HAVE ONE. I have lots of scraps in my stash, but was really low on two colours. I hit up the scrap baskets at two quilt stores and scored heaps of yellow, and my friend Bec came through for me with orange.
I feel you Carrie, I didn't have enough yellow either. At least you had adequate orange!
Don't you love how unbacked quilts look in the light? Like stained glass. They look better than when they are backed. It's like how uncooked cake mix tastes better than the actual cake. I almost feel like using it as a curtain panel. But that would fade it. I will back it at some point but I'm just not enthused about tackling it right now. There's a void in my life now that this top is finished, I feel I've got all this momentum and I'm just going to plunge straight into the next project.

I'm really inspired together with your writing skills as well as with the layout in your blog. Is this a paid topic or did you customize it yourself? Either way stay up the nice quality writing, it's uncommon to see a nice blog like this one nowadays.
